As His disciples, He has given us everything we need to live and to be able to serve Him in the mission field. So when we give our life, time and even money to the extension of His Kingdom, we can be sure the Lord will supply all our needs and even more. We are His ambassadors, and God wants us to be a credit to Him and not a reproach. 1 Chronicles 29:14 But why should we be happy that we have given you these gifts? They belong to you, and we have only given back what is already yours. (CEV) NOTE: Cross out the incorrect answer. Example (true or false) Q1 God already owns everything. (True or false) Q2 When we give to God we are giving Him what is ours. (True or false) This attitude of giving and being generous is a healthy attitude if followed carefully. Here we see that if we bring to God the first fruit of our labour, the Word of God is saying that you will have an increase. Proverbs 3:9 - Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. (KJV) Q3 If you bring your offering to God, you will increase what you have. (True or false) If you think poor, you will be poor. If you think rich you will be rich. An attitude of generosity will develop in a person as a person grows in confidence that God will meet all your needs. Please understand it must be done in the knowledge of God. Proverbs 11:24 - One person spends freely and yet grows richer, while another holds back what he owes and yet grows poorer.25 - A generous person will be made rich, and whoever satisfies others will himself be satisfied. (GW) Q4 A generous person will be made rich. (True or false) Q5 If you are kind to others, others will not be kind to you. (True or false) Here we see again it is our attitude towards others that makes a difference in how we will be treated. We can be sure that God is aware of what we are doing. What we do for the least we do to Him. Luke 6:38 - If you give to others, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated. (CEV) Q6 If you give to others it will not return to you. (True or false) Q7 The way you treat others is the way you will be treated. (True or false) We are not forced by God to give to the church or to give to someone who is in need. We are not forced to do anything by God. He wants us to do things from our free will. NOTE: It’s not the pastor or the leader of any home group or church to say how much a person should give or what a person should do. The person should decide for himself through prayer and consideration. In the case of a married couple they should discuss the level of their generosity. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you must make up your own mind about how much to give. But don't feel sorry that you must give and don't feel that you are forced to give. God loves people who love to give. (CEV) Q8 God loves people who love to give. (True or false) Q9 The pastor should tell us how much we should give. (True or false) Q10 God does not force us to give. (True or false) Q11 God loves you if you don’t give. (True or false) NOTE: God loves everyone even if they don’t give, but it is better for us to have a generous spirit. Here in acts we see that Jesus said; “more blessings come from giving than receiving”. This is to say that if we give of ourselves, there’re more good things to come our way. Paul did say that if we show (be an example) or teach these principles that we are helping people to overcome their problems. Do you want blessings or problems? Our answer is blessings. Acts 20:35 - By everything I did, I showed how you should work to help everyone who is weak. Remember that our Lord Jesus said, "More blessings come from giving than from receiving." (CEV) Q12 We should be a good example of generosity. (True or false) Q13 It is better to receive than give. (True or false) If we are not sure of this dynamics of giving because we are afraid of losing or missing out, it’s OK to put God to the test in this area. When we test God, God opens the windows of heaven and pours out a blessing. That means we will have increase in our life. Malachi 3:10- I am the LORD All-Powerful, and I challenge you to put me to the test. Bring the entire ten percent into the storehouse, so there will be food in my house. Then I will open the windows of heaven and flood you with blessing after blessing. (CEV) Q14 It’s not OK to test God. (True or false) Q15 God is all-powerful only some of the time. (True or false) Q16 If you are a joyful giver God will bless you. (True or false) How then does God bless his believers who give of their time or money or food or help etc? It is by His protection over our work and the increased productivity. We still need to work and provide for our families first, and then for the brethren and those in need. Malachi 3:11 - Then, for your sake, I will stop insects from eating your crops. They will not destroy the produce of your land. The vines in your fields will not lose their unripened grapes," says the LORD of Armies. (GW) Q17 We should stop work when we are saved. (True or false) Q18 God will increase our produce. (True or false) Q19 If we give we will have more. (True or false) Q20 God is our provider. (True or false) The teaching of generosity and tithing is not only about how much we give, but also more about our attitude towards giving. If all things are done unto the Lord then there comes a blessing to us for “as we sow so shall we reap”. Matthew 25:40 -The king will answer them, 'I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did for me'. (GW) You are free to come you are free to go. You’re free to sing and free not to. You’re free to give and free not to give. You are free to believe and free not to. If you feel pressure from man than don’t do anything, but the Holy Spirit is different we need to listen to Him, because He want to bless us. Jesus gave one directive, “You must be born again”.
