The Spirit of God is vitally important to the believer. Without the Holy Spirit we do not have the strength or power to overcome the problems and the temptations of this world. But all we need to do as stated in Luke 11:13 is ask for the Holy Spirit. (Luke 11:13 how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask?). It is God’s gift to us who believe in Jesus as our Saviour. Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."
