In this life there will be troubles that we all have to face and as Disciples of Jesus we need to understand whom or what is the enemy. Our human nature wants to blame other people for the stress we face, but it might not be another person but a spiritual strongman.

The Christian needs to develop into a spiritual strong person to be able to stand against the works of the devil.

Matthew 11:11 Truly I say to you, Among those who have been born of women there has not risen a greater one than John the Baptist. But the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of Heaven is taken by violence, and the violent take it by force. (MKJV)

Q1/ The Kingdom of God has progressed without any persecution. (True or False)

Q3/ The word Violent here in the scripture above means to be assertive in the spiritual realm. (True or False)

The word of God has set out what we need to do to overcome the enemy we need to be able to identify him and how he is doing things.

Romans 8:37 But in all these things we more than conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.(MKJV)

The enemy wants to destroy all that he can he is running out of time, but in the time he has left he will do his best to kill and destroy.

We are not fighting against man but a spiritual power, which is trying to destroy us.

This section of scripture from Ephesians can help us all in the area of the battle against the works of the enemy, but we will only look at the area of prayer.

Fellowship with God in our time of prayer is where the power of God is imparted into the believer.

We know who we are in God, with authority and power from fellowship we need now to follow Matthew 11:11, and the violent take it by force. We need to be actively assertive, without stepping back from the spiritual fight, because Jesus has won the fight.

Now we will look at five points in this battle in our prayer life.

A/ Strongman

A strongman can be anything that has hold of you or controls your life or even the nation you are called to.

What is required is to identify which area the strongman is attacking you.

Luke 11:21 When the strong man, fully armed, guards his dwelling, his goods are in peace. 22 But when one stronger than he comes, he overcomes him. He takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and he distributes his arms (MKJV)

The strongman can rule over,

 A nation

 A state or province

 A region

 A city

 A home

 A family

 A person

Note that the areas above are also the areas that God wants to bring Revival to.

Q12/ When we Know who we are in God and we know the enemy we know we have won. (True or False)

B/ Faith has power

When Jesus questioned Peter about who He was. Peter said, “you are the Son of God”, which could only be said by faith and not by natural thinking.

Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (MKJV)

Faith has power, because you believe what the Word of God is saying and you act on it.

C/ Kingdom Dynamics

(MKJV) Mark 3:24 And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan rises up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.

The natural laws of this world also apply in the Kingdom of God. If a group of people works as a team they can achieve great things. On the other hand if they don’t work together their efforts will bring a poor result.

Mark 3:23 And He called them and said to them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? (MKJV)

D/ Understanding the Keys & Authority

Jesus has given us Keys and all we need to do is use them.

Luke 10:18 And He said to them, I saw Satan falling out of Heaven as lightning!

Luke 10:19 Behold, I have given you the authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and on all the power of the hostile one, and nothing shall hurt you, no, never!

(MKJV) Mark 16:17 And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues;

E/ Bind and Loose

Matthew 16:19 And I will give the keys of the kingdom of Heaven to you. And whatever you may bind on earth shall occur, having been bound in Heaven, and whatever you may loose on earth shall occur, having been loosed in Heaven. (MKJV)

Mark 3:27 No one can enter into a strong one's house and plunder his goods, except he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house. (MKJV)

Bind on earth. ===== Having been bound in Heaven.

Loose on earth. ===== Having been loosed in Heaven.

Use the authority given us by Jesus and exercise the power we gain in prayer with God over the works of the enemy.
