If you had met me before I was a Christian you would have found someone who knew where he was going. Now I know where I am going, but both destinations are different. When I was a non-Christian I had been asked the question; “If you were to die where would you go heaven or hell?” My answer was hell. I knew my life did not please God; it had sin in it. I was a sinner. Now I am a saint who is on his way to heaven. Q1 We have a destination. (True or False) We as Disciples of Christ need to understand the process or the steps for a non-believer to take to gain entry to heaven. Also we need to know how to show someone they need forgiveness for their sins. Understand ones position or state. Q2/ For anyone it is imperative to know the Ten Commandments. (True or False) Q3/ The Commandments are there to teach us what sin is. (True or False) Q4/ The Ten Commandments is a teacher. (True or False) Q5/ The Ten Commandments are the code of ethics of Christianity. (True or False) Q6/ The Ten Commandments are also called a spiritual law [Rom.7: 14] (True or False) Q7/ The Ten Commandments are there so we can compare our Christianity to it. (True or False) Here is a simplified list of the Commandments. - Exodus 20:2-17 Q8/ You shall have no other gods before Me. (True or False) Q9/ You shall not make for your self a carved image any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above. (True or False) Q10 You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. (True or False) Q11/ Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. (True or False) Q12/ Honor your father and your mother. (True or False) Q13/ You shall not murder. (True or False) Q14/ You shall not commit adultery. (True or False) Q15/ You shall not steal. (True or False) Q16/ You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. (True or False) Q17/ You shall not covet your neighbor's house. (True or False) First thing we need to do is establish which of the Commandments (The Law) a person has broken. Question One is: Are you a good person? Most people will say “Yes”. Question Two: Have you ever told a lie? The answer is “YES”. Question Three: What do you call a person who tells lies? Answer is a Liar Question Four: Have ever stolen anything no matter how small? The answer is “YES”. Question Five: What do you call a person who steals? Answer a thief. Question Six: Have you ever looked at someone and lusted after him or her? The answer is “YES”. Question Seven: What do you call a person who lust in their heart? The answer is adultery. Jesus said even if you lust in your heart you are adulterer. The list of question can go on but usually four will be enough. You have not said anything bad to them; you have asked question, which will stimulate or provoke their conscience. They have been the one to say what they have done. Now you need to make a set of statements based on the Word of God. By what you have said; You have broken Gods law. You have said that you are a liar, a thief and an adulterer. God being a fair judge, do you think you will go to heaven or hell? The Answer should be “Hell.” Do you want to go to heaven? Now let me explain GRACE to you. Grace of God through Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:17 Do not think that I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to destroy but to fulfill. : 18 For truly I say to you, Till the heaven and the earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any way pass from the Law until all is fulfilled. (CEV) Don't suppose that I came to do away with the Law and the Prophets. I did not come to do away with them, but to give them their full meaning. Jesus is saying he didn’t come to get rid of the law but to make it complete. The law as I have stated was there to show us what sin is, and what the consequences were. All have sinned. Q18/ The Bible says that sin is the ingredient that will send us to hell. (True or False) John 1:17 For the Law came through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Now Jesus wants to bring meaning to the Law by adding grace, because Law without grace only leaves a person feeling under condemnation. When we read the Law we can see our sins. With Jesus’ death on the cross he has given meaning to the Law. That is to say we have sinned and when we accept that Jesus paid for our redemption we are set free of the law of sin. Jesus said in Luke 5:32 “I did not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners”. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. : 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. :18 He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. Q19/ Jesus came to bring us into right relationship with God so that we can renew our fellowship with Him. (True or False) A/ The realization, by the Law that we have sinned. The Law is there to show us our sins. The Law is there to show us that we can’t get to heaven. The Law is there to show us we need Gods grace. B/ A realization that Christ is the way back to God. Jesus is the grace of God. Q20/ God grace through Christ removes the penalty of sin. (True or False) C/ A realization of the need to repent. A need to take responsibility for our life and our children’s lives. A need to say sorry. Prayer. Exodus 20:5 You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them. For I Jehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation of those that hate me, 6 and showing mercy to thousands of those that love Me and keep My commandments.
