Why do I call this lesson the burden of the leader?

It is because it is about how the leader is always looking for people with certain qualities to be the next generation of leaders who will carry the word of God to the next generation of believers.

Many become Christian and are on their way to heaven, but not all are called to lead others. There are believers who then become disciples who eventually become leaders.

Matthew 7:14 Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (MKJV)

Q1/ Only a few will be saved. (True or false)

Not all will be saved only a few will find salvation, but if there is no one to tell them about Jesus even they could be lost. Everyone that believes and call on Jesus will be saved.

Romans 10:13 For everyone, "whoever shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved." 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without preaching? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!"

Q2/ We need more preachers to teach the word of God. (True or false)

Few

Out of all that are saved only a few will hear and obey the call of leadership.

Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last, for many are called, but few are chosen. (MKJV)

One of the few: Moses

The Leader of God’s people has a burden that not many can see. Moses wanted his people to walk in freedom and in victory, but his burden was great.

All the people called him to deal with disputes day and night. He was a man of great wisdom and therefore people would trust him to solve their problems.

Q3/ The leader want to do a good job. (True or false)

Exodus 18:17 And Moses' father-in-law said to him, The thing that you do is not good. 18 You will surely wear away, both you and this people that is with you. For this thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it alone. 19 Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you. You be for the people toward God, that you may bring the causes to God. 20 And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall make them know the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do. 21 And you shall look out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain. And place such over them to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. (MKJV)

Moses father-in-law gave Moses some advice because he was looking at Moses situation from the outside. He said you are trying to do too much and you need help.

Q4/ Jethro said, “I will give you counsel, and God will be with you” (True or false)

Q5/ Some can lead ten, fifties, hundreds and thousands. (True or false)

Q6/ A leader can do everything and needs no help. (True or false)

A good leader will listen to counsel so if that is the case and it is. It is a good place to start when selecting the next generation of leaders. Look for those who listen.

How to select the leader

2.    Such as fear God

3.    Men of truth

Q8/ A man who doesn’t want to live without God can become a good leader. (True or false)

Q9/ A man who tell little lies will be a good leader. (True or false)

Q10/ A man who hates to see people treated badly will not make a good leader. (True or false)

Other qualities of a Good Leader: They will be

1. Punctuality… keeping to arranged time: arriving or taking place at the arranged time

**She is punctual at starting the meeting

Reward is that you will find a life that is full

Matthew 10:39 He who finds his life shall lose it. And he who loses his life for My sake shall find it. (MKJV)

At the conclusion of the leaders reign he or she will know they have prepared the next generation and they will know that the baton has been passed on.

Proverbs 20:6 Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but a faithful man who can find? 7 The just walks in his integrity; his sons are blessed after him. (MKJV)

Q16/ Integrity will be seen in a good leader and his descendent's will follow too. (True or false)

Q17/A leader will prepare the next leader or leaders. (True or false)

Q18/ A good Christian will have a vision for the future for the group he or she is in charge of. (True or false)

Do we as Christians want to proclaim ourselves as the world does or do we want to proclaim Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life?

Conformity to the ways of the world is not the answer to find a life that is fulfilling for a Christian. To be radical is to stand out from the crowd and proclaim Jesus and care for others eternal salvation.

The burden of the leader is a joy as you see young men and women grow in the lord to the place of leadership.

Paul said:

2Timothy 1:11 to which I am appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher of the nations.

Q19/ As Christians we proclaim who we are in Christ Jesus. (True or false)

Q20/ A good leader aren’t afraid to release people into ministry. (True or false)
