55 Healing or Revival of the Nation / Part Three PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 30 March 2007

My Nation is sick with sin portrayed on the TV and Newspaper without anyone saying or doing anything, the heart of the nation is corrupted by sin.

In 1987 I traveled from Australia to Norway to compete in the World Power-lifting championships. We competed in a small city on the edge of the sea called Fredrikstead. I was given the honor of leading the nation by carrying the flag in the opening ceremony this to me was a great thing to represent my country like most people, who have a national pride.

For a Nation to be healed of its spiritual sickness it has to start with the individual desiring the things of God in ones own life. We need to be brave to open our hearts to God and go in and remove that which is unclean. Once the individual has done this it passes onto the local assembly.

The local assembly has a responsibility to affect the surrounding environment by helping and training people that live in that area with the love and healing power of Jesus Christ. As they do this the Church will grow and healing will take place in that locality.

Q1/ The local assembly has a responsibility in its own area. (True or false)

Many people will see the change in people’s lives in the Church in that area; once they see this they become interested in the Church. We are the gospel that people read and so what happens is, they see this change take place and want to know what’s happening.

The demonstrations of the living God who heals brokenhearted and sets the captive free will influence the individual who is being revived. Then the church that is being revived will have an impact on its community and this will become greater and greater as the move of Gods Spirit moves wider and wider. The impact will become greater and eventually impact the nation.

God speaks through an individual and then a assembly and as the Church grows politicians will want to be part of it because of it’s voting power.

Q2/ The local Church can have an impact on it’s local area. (True or false)

A/ Responsibility

Next we see the influence on the nation. If the national leaders don’t hear the warning the nation will suffer and go into decline. The church is the voice of God in the nation but not to control it and the reverse can be said. Any influence by the church should be by example under the leading of the Holy Spirit.

The Church has the gifts of the Holy Spirit to bring prophecies to the nation. Nations are always warned of changes that can lead to a decline. Leaders of nations need to listen to the Prophets of God but unfortunately some reject the Prophet of God.

An American president was given a word of prophecy by a young preacher, but unfortunately the president rejected this word and did not come to the place of repentance following this within two months he fell from grace.

Q3/ God gives a warning to the leaders of Governments. (True or false)

Now we need to look at Hezekiah again and see where we the Nation can learn. Hezekiah through his reforms of the Church and the Government brought a period of prosperity for the nation of Israel. We can also see that he had many other public project of development taking place in his reign. He brought water into the center of the city by the means of aqueduct.

Q4/ A Nation under God is blessed. (True or false)

Healing first for individual then the Local Church, following these two healings, things will happen quickly for the Nation.

2Chorincals 29:1 Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became king of Judah, and he ruled twenty-nine years from Jerusalem. His mother was Abijah daughter of Zechariah.

Q5/ Verse 1 Hezekiah had a position of responsibility to God and the people. (True or false)

2Chorincals 29: 2 Hezekiah obeyed the LORD by doing right, just as his ancestor David had done. (CEV)

Q6/ Verse 2 Hezekiah in obedience to God followed the precepts of his ancestor King David. (True or false)

2Chorincals 29: 3 In the first month of the first year of Hezekiah's rule, he unlocked the doors to the Lord's temple and had them repaired. (CEV)

Q7/ Verse 3 Hezekiah open and repaired the door of the temple. (True or false)

2Chorincals 29 :4  Then he called the priests and Levities to the east courtyard of the temple (CEV)

Q8/ Verse 4 Hezekiah sets things in motion by calling the priest to assemble. (True or false)

2Chorincals 29:5  and said: It's time to purify the temple of the LORD God of our ancestors. You Levities must first go through the ceremony to make yourselves clean, then go into the temple and bring out everything that is unclean and unacceptable to the LORD.  (CEV)

Q9/ Verse 5 Hezekiah gives two directives. (True or false)

B/ Obedience

King Hezekiah was a very wise he read the words of David his forefather and saw how successful David was. The nation of Israel was suffering at this time and King Hezekiah, wanted to bring prosperity to his people on reading the word of God he could see the plan that was set before him.

He called the people together and the elders of the nation, the priest to go into the temple and cleaning up the debris he then brought people together again and set the musicians in place and commanded them to play. Then the blessings of God fell upon the people the nation of Israel and the Bible records these things as happening suddenly.

A Godly leader will bring about a powerful change.

Q10/ Hezekiah wanted prosperity to his people. (True or false)

National leaders need to come together in a prayer of repentance if they truly want to see the nation become blessed. This needs to be a public demonstration to avert any downward trends.

The Church and the Government of any Nation are by nature two different mechanisms and therefore are incompatible, but if people are open to the things of God they can learn from the word of God.

Australia is in server drought and if the leaders would repent God would bless them.

Q11/ The act of obedience is powerful. (True or false)

C/ Opening the doors of the Government

(prayer and introspection)

We know when we read the Bible that it didn't happen suddenly (without warning) Hezekiah the King had to give the command to the priesthood, Levities and the people to clean the temple and he had to take certain steps to set the musicians in place.

Q12/ Opening and repairing the doors of the Church is good for the nation. (True or false)

D/ Calling of God

Some nations today are suffering from hardships (Australia, USA) and if you look at the situation you will see a spiritual sickness in the nation. What is required the leaders of the nation to step forward and take responsibility for the sin and the corruption in the nation.

It needs a public demonstration of repentance by leadership seeking Gods forgiveness and grace so that the nation can return to its former splendor.

Q13/ Leadership should lead and take responsibility. (True or false)

E/ Directives

The nation’s leaders need to read the Bible and followed the directives that are in the Bible. It is the Order of First Mention and man has deviated away from this, that is why the courtrooms are full and nations are falling apart.

Following a directive of God, will bring a blessing the practicality of faith “do it”. When the politicians listen to God and follow the directive a full blessing will flow.

Q14/ Reading the word of God will bless the nation. (True or false)

Q15/ When you follow the word of God you will be blessed. (True or false)

That which is unacceptable and unclean needs to be addressed. Each person has an inclination in their heart that a thing is unacceptable or unclean even if they are not Christians. The teaching of the word of God will bring more clarity to any given point uncertainty.

i/ Unacceptable

Attitudes of the heart

Why are they doing things?

To become famous

To become rich

To have power

To have control

To please someone else

Pride

To look upon the things that can entangle us, which are unacceptable should not be an issue of fear or condemnation but an issue of freedom. I believe we should look at our motives and take them to God in prayer; He is wonderfully gracious and forgetful.

Only can the believer go into his or her own hear.

Q16/ When the politicians open their heart with repentance, God will bring healing to the Nation. (True or false)

Q17/ Healing of the nation start with me. (True or false)

Q18/ When I obey the word of God I make my nation where I live better. (True or false)

ii/ Unclean

That which is unclean must also be removed.

The list is extensive and it would take a book to list them all. It is better for the leaders of a nation to start by looking at Gods word and see where their policies don’t fit.

Steps to gain His power in the nation .

1.    Submit to the word of God

2.    Have a teachable spirit

3.    Submit to Gods leadership

4.    Submit to the vision of  God for the nation

5.    Have a God given vision for the people

6.    Follow set Bible teaching materials

7.    Have only one God the lord Jesus Christ

8.    The leaders and the government to fulfill the vision of God for the nation

9.    Follow the teachings of Jesus Christ

10.    Make a covenant with God and dedicate the nation to the serving of God and the fulfilling of the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ. (A prayer of separation and consecration to God)

Q19/ Follow these ten points will bring a change. (True or false)

Following the above five steps A to E in practicality of faith it is a good platform for future healing, which will lead to rival of the individual, Church and the nation

We need a healing from the spiritual sickness of sin first before we can move any further. Spiritual sickness dwells in the heart of man and is in the heart of the Church. The nation also has this spiritual sickness and needs to repent of improper method of leadership.

The Glory of God can only dwell in a holy vessel; we need to remove the filth from the person, Church and Nation.

We as Christians are called to be Christians and I am certainly not called to be a politician.

Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. (KJVA)

The standard of God are

#    His son the Lord Jesus Christ

#    His word the Bible

#    His Church

You and me, Sons and Daughters of God

The Body of Christ will grow and with this ground swell and they will by their beliefs and numbers bring about Godly change.

If we get into bed with a politician who walking in an ungodly manner, we are going to become a whore. A Godly man will bring words of exultation, edification and comfort. When have we heard a politicians talk this way about their opposition?

What we hear from politicians are personal attacks, which if I as a Pastor heard them in my Church I would be horrified.

Governments are put in place by God and we are called to pray for them and obey them as long as it is not to deny our faith in Jesus.

Q20/ Presenting our faith is all we need to do. (True or false)

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (KJVA)

The individual needs to be healed first, then the Church and following this as the move of God grows the Governments need to hear the voice of God or bring judgment upon a nation.

Leaders need to repent and make a prayer of deduction to God of the Nation to receive healing for the Nation.

Psalm 85:6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? 7 Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation. (KJVA)
